The fundamentals of good therapy do not change according to gender, but the experiences people bring to therapy can.
Some men have had limited opportunities to talk openly about themselves or may have learned to deal with difficulties privately. Others are very comfortable doing so. Therapy should respond to the individual rather than rely on stereotypes about men.
My work with men recognises these differences while providing the same respectful, confidential and person-centred therapeutic relationship I bring to all clients.
